Risk Disclosure
Last updated: March 2025
Please read this Risk Disclosure carefully before using The Great Trader's services. This disclosure is provided for informational purposes and does not constitute financial, investment, or legal advice.
1. Simulated Trading Environment
The Great Trader provides a simulated trading evaluation program. All evaluation accounts operate in a simulated (paper trading) environment powered by the Rithmic platform. No real money is traded and no real capital is at risk during the evaluation phase.
Simulated trading results have inherent limitations. They do not reflect the impact of real-market conditions such as liquidity constraints, slippage, requotes, emotional decision-making under real financial pressure, or execution differences that may affect real trading outcomes.
2. No Real Capital at Risk During Evaluation
During the evaluation phase, all profits and losses are simulated. The evaluation fee you pay is for access to the evaluation program — it is not a deposit or investment in any financial instrument. You cannot lose more than the evaluation fee you paid.
3. Funded Account Trading
Traders who successfully complete evaluations may be offered access to a funded trading account. In funded accounts:
- Capital is provided by The Great Trader, not the trader.
- Traders receive a percentage of profits (profit split) as defined in their funded account agreement.
- Funded accounts operate under strict risk management rules (drawdown limits, daily loss limits).
- Violation of funded account rules results in account termination with no financial liability to the trader beyond the original evaluation fee.
- Funded account payouts are subject to eligibility criteria and compliance review.
4. Futures Trading Risks
Our evaluations involve simulated futures trading. In real futures trading, the following risks apply (relevant context for evaluation participants):
- Leverage risk: Futures contracts are highly leveraged instruments. Small market movements can result in gains or losses that exceed the margin deposited.
- Market risk: Prices of futures contracts are affected by interest rates, economic data, geopolitical events, and supply and demand — all of which are unpredictable.
- Liquidity risk: Some markets may have limited liquidity, making it difficult to enter or exit positions at desired prices.
- Volatility risk: Markets can move rapidly and unpredictably, especially around major economic releases.
- Technology risk: Platform outages, internet connectivity failures, or data feed disruptions may affect your ability to execute trades.
5. Past Performance
Past performance — whether simulated or real — is not indicative of future results. Traders who have previously passed evaluations or received payouts are not guaranteed to continue doing so. Trading results are highly dependent on market conditions, which change continuously.
6. Not Investment Advice
The Great Trader does not provide investment advice, financial planning, or trading recommendations. Any educational content, market commentary, or performance metrics provided on our platform are for informational purposes only. You are solely responsible for your trading decisions.
7. Payout Discretion
Funded account payouts are subject to:
- Compliance with all funded account trading rules.
- Eligibility criteria (minimum trading days, minimum profit, no open violations).
- Administrative review by The Great Trader.
- Applicable tax withholding and reporting requirements.
The Great Trader reserves the right to decline payout requests that do not meet eligibility criteria or where there is evidence of rule violations.
8. No Employment Relationship
Participation in The Great Trader's program does not create an employment relationship, partnership, joint venture, or agency relationship between you and The Great Trader. Traders are independent participants in an evaluation program.
9. Eligibility and Compliance
Our services are available only to eligible participants in approved jurisdictions. We are not available to residents of restricted countries. Users are responsible for ensuring compliance with their local laws and regulations regarding simulated trading programs.
10. Acknowledgment
By using our services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Risk Disclosure, that you understand the nature of simulated trading, and that you accept the risks described herein.
